How to make onion paratha:-

Onion paratha is one of the most popular north Indian dish. It is very easy and simple to cook. In the childhood days my mother always used to make onion paratha, mouth watering dish and i loved it. It can be serve with any type of bhaji, yogurt, tea, mango pickle. So, today i will tell how to cook onion paratha and i hope you all like this recipe.

Onion Paratha


Ingredients for making paratha:-

  • Whole wheat flour - 250 gm
  • Onion - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Carom seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 tbsp
  • Butter for frying parathas
  • Coriander leaves - finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp

Directions for making paratha:-

1. First of all in a bowl take whole wheat flour (atta), add chopped onion, salt as per taste, add carom seeds, add oil 2 tbsp, add turmeric powder, add chaat masala, add chopped coriander leaves and mix well all the ingredients.

2. Now, knead the soft dough, cover the lid and rest it for 15 minutes to set the dough.

3. After that, open the cover and make equal balls from the dough.

4. Further, make dough balls in round shape with the help of your palms.

5. Now, on the board, keep the dough ball and press it, sprinkle some wheat flour and with the help of rolling pin roll it into perfect round shape.

6. Now, turn on the flame and heat the tava, after 2 minutes place the paratha on the hot tava.

7. Now, flip the paratha and spread butter on the top of paratha, again flip it and spread butter on the other side.

8. Now, flip in between the paratha for 2 to 3 times untill it gets cooked and browned colour as all the paratha look like.

9. Now, take it out on the plate and serve with yogurt, mango pickle, raita or any bhaji as of your choice and enjoy with your family and friends.
