Dal palak/Spinach Dal in restaurant style
How to make Dal palak/ Spinach Dal in restaurant style:-
Dal palak is very famous dish eaten in north India. Dal palak is very delicious dish that contain the goodness of spinach which is very healthy for our body. It is lentil based dish full of spinach and garlic which makes recipe very nutritious. This dish is very simple, easy to cook and takes very less amount of time.
Ingredients for making recipe:-
- Mix dal - 150 gm
- Palak(spinach) - 2 cups (finely chopped)
- Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
- Tomato - 2 medium (finely chopped)
- Green chilli - 1 (finely chopped)
- Garlic - 5 to 6 cloves
- Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
- Hing(asafoetida) - 1 pinch
- Curry leaves - 8 to 10 pieces
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder -1/2 tbsp
- Kitchen king masala - 1 tbsp
- Salt as per taste
- Water - 1.5 cup
- Fresh coriander leaves - For garnishing(finely chopped)
Directions for making Dal palak:-
⇨ Firstly, wash spinach and cut into very small pieces.
⇨ Now, wash the mix dal with 2 or 3 times with water.
⇨ Further, put dal in pressure cooker, add chopped palak(spinach),
Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp, add salt as per taste, water and close the lid of the cooker and cook on medium flame for 5 to 8 minutes until it gives 2 whistle.
⇨ Now turn off the flame and keep pressure cooker for 2 minutes until it release all gas.
⇨ After that turn on flame and heat oil in a pan/ kadhai.
⇨ When oil gets properly heated then add cumin seeds and it began to crackle then add hing(asafoetida) one pinch.
⇨ After that, add chopped onion, chopped green chilli, curry leaves and saute it till the onion gets golden brown in colour.
⇨ Now, add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, kitchen king masala,salt as required and saute till the tomato get soft.
⇨ Further, add cooked dal and palak, stir for 1/2 minute and cook for 2 minutes. Garnish with the fresh chopped coriander leaves.
⇨ Now, your Dal palak is ready to eat. Serve hot with rice, enjoy with your family and share your experience with me.
