Matar paneer/ Restaurant style matar paneer

How to make Matar Paneer recipe in restaurant style:-

Matar paneer is one of the most popular north indian dish. It is very popular in punjab( India). People love to eat this recipe. It contains paneer and peas( matar) in a spicy tomato based gravy. It is usually served with rice, naan, paratha, pooris, rotis and chappatis. Making matar paneer is very simple and easy and takes very less time to cook.


Ingredients:

Ingredients for matar paneer gravy:-

  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onions - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic cloves - 5
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Cashews - 6
  • Matar paneer masala powder - 1 tbsp
Ingredients for making matar paneer:-
  • Oil - 5 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • paneer - 250 gm
  • Peas - 150 gm (peeled)
  • Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Fresh chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Directions for the recipe:-

Tomato - Onion gravy for recipe:-

1. Firstly, heat oil in a pan/kadai, add chopped onions, ginger, garlic and saute it on medium flame untill it gets golden brown in colour.

2. After that, add chopped tomatoes and saute it for 2 to 3 minutes till they get soft.

3. Now, turn off the flame, add some cashews in the mixture and let it cool for some time.

4. Now, blend all the mixure into smooth paste.



Method for making Matar paneer recipe:-


1. First, turn on the flame and heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan/kadai.

2. Add paneer cubs in kadai/pan and saute till it gets golden brown colour. Now take it out the paneer on kitchen paper towel for absorbing extra oil.

3. Now, in the same kadai/pan add 3 tbsp oil and heat it.

4. After 2 to 3 minutes, oil gets heated properly, add cumin seeds.

5. when the cumin seeds began to crackle, add bay leaf, chopped onion and saute till the onion get golden brown.

6. Further, add tomato - onion gravy mix, add turmeric powder, matar paneer masala powder, salt as per taste and saute it untill the oil oozes out from the gravy mix.

7. After that, add paneer cubes, peas in the tomato - onion gravy and stir in between, saute it for 2 to 3 minutes on the medium flame.

8. Furthermore, add 1 cup of water to adjust the consistency, cover the lid and cook on low flame for 8 to 10 minutes.

9. Now, turn off the flame, open the lid of a pan/kadai and serve the matar paneer recipe in the serving plate, garnish with the fresh chopped coriander leaves and enjoy with roti, naan, rice etc. share your experience with me.
