How to make aloo k parathe in Indian style:-

Aloo paratha is one of the most popular breakfast dishes throughout western, central and northern regions of India. It is all time favorite dish mostly made in every north Indian household. It is usually eat aloo k parathe with yogurt, mango pickle. People in India of any age group from young to old love to eat aloo k parathe. I personally  and my family member love to eat aloo k parathe. So, i always used to make aloo k parathe with butter in breakfast and serve with the yogurt. If  you are in hurry to make any food for your guest or for your children then you can make this mouth watering dish very easily. Aloo k parathe is very delicious, quick, simple and easy recipe made with the normal ingredients available in your kitchen and it take very less time to cook. So, let's start the process of cooking aloo k parathe.

Ingredients for making aloo paratha:-

  • Potatoes ( Aloo) - 3 medium (boiled, peeled and mashed)
  • Oil - 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Onion - 1 medium ( chopped)
  • Green chilli - 1 ( finely chopped)
  • Dry mango powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp ( grated)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Whole wheat flour - 2 cups
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - finely chopped

Directions for making stuffing for aloo paratha:-

1. First of all boil the potatoes and peel them. Then mash the potatoes with the help of potato masher.

2. Now, heat oil in a pan.

3. Once oil gets properly heated then add cumin seeds.

4. When cumin seeds began to crackle then add grated ginger and fry for half minute.

5. After that, add chopped onion and chopped green chilli and saute until it gets golden brown colour.

6. Further, add turmeric powder, dry mango powder, garam masala powder, salt and stir fry for half minute.

7. Then add mashed potatoes, chopped coriander leaves and fry for  1 minute on medium flame.

Directions for making for aloo paratha:-

1. In a bowl, take whole wheat flour(atta).

2. Now, add salt, oil and mix it well.

3. With the help of water knead a soft smooth dough, cover it and keep the dough aside for 20 minutes to set.

How to roll and stuff aloo paratha:-

1. Pinch small balls from the dough. Make proper round shape with the help of your palm then dust in wheat flour and flatten them.

2. Now, with the help of rolling pin, roll it into about 2 to 3 inches radius rounds.

3. On the top of rolled dough, place the potato stuffing in the center.

4. Now, seal the outer edges of dough with the help of your finger tips and flatten them and dust with some flour on the stuffed paratha and roll it into round shape of about 3 to 4 inches radius or as the size of roti you make.

How to aloo paratha:-

1. Heat tava or pan and place the rolled aloo paratha on it.

2. When the base get half cooked flip it and spread butter or ghee or oil as of your choice on the half cooked part.

3. Now, flip again and now this side should be fully cooked more than the previous side as you will see some brown spots on the aloo paratha. 

4. Now, spread some butter/ghee/oil in this side too.

5. Flip the paratha one or two times until both sides of paratha get cooked properly.

6. Now, your paratha is ready to eat. serve hot with mango pickle or curd with sugar.
